Eczacibasi Esan, which is a subsidiary of Eczacibasi Group, was founded in 1978 with the purpose of supplying raw materials for ceramic sector. Since its foundation, Esan has expanded its operations by adding metallic minerals production to its business lines. And as of today, with 24 mines and 6 processing plants, Esan is one of the leading producer and exporter of feldspar, quartz, kaolin, ball clay, bentonite, halloysite, zinc and lead concentrate in Turkey. In order to give better on-site service to its customers, Eczacibasi Esan established Esan Italia Minerals S.R.L. in Italy in 2004 and later opened representation offices in Ukraine and China. Esan keeps its growth in foreign markets as much as local market, its exporting activities extends over more than 40 countries. Eczacibasi Esan also conducts sales and marketing of various commercial products in addition to raw materials and metallic minerals. Currently Esan provides services to numerous sectors led by the ceramic industry, welding electrode, glass, refractory, enamel, abrasive, paint and plastic with more than 150 different products. In 2010, Eczacibasi Esan’s first consumer product “PisiPisi” cat sand, being produced by processing and activating natural raw material bentonite, released to the market. . ​Following ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 17025 laboratories accreditation management system certificates, Eczacibasi Esan received ISO 14001 Environment and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety management system certificates and continues its holistic quality journey.
