Elbi S. P. A.

Originally born as a manufacturer of oil-fired kettles and boilers, after about ten years the company concentrates its production activities in the production of tanks for the thermo-hydraulic industry. In the mid-1970s, Elbi started the production of autoclaves and membrane expansion vessels, becoming one of the major European producers in the thermohydraulics sector. Now close to the Vigodarzere site, in 1981 Elbi moved to its current site in Limena, thus expanding its production capacity. In 1989 the company embarked on a new production path with the processing of plastic materials, and started the production of rotational polyethylene tanks. Elbi of America, Inc. was founded in 1990 with headquarters in Houston, Texas. Initially it plays the role of a simple commercial activity, learning about the cultures and mentalities of a vast and complex country like the American continent. In 1994 the Green System commercial division was born, which deals with the production and marketing of pots for plants and flowers in rotational polyethylene. The company thus enters a new market, gardening and green furniture, expanding its know-how in both the technological and commercial fields. Now firmly established in the American market, In 1996 Elbi of America officially became the production site for fixed membrane tanks, bringing production closer to the outlet market. In 1997 the third commercial division of the company, Ambiente, was born, which designs and produces bells and bins for the collection of urban waste and markets a wide range of accessories for urban hygiene and furniture. In 2001 a new production plant was opened in Modugno (BA), mainly dedicated to the molding of products made of rotational polyethylene. The plant is equipped with two ovens for rotational molding and a polyethylene extrusion and pulverization plant.
