ELKAP was established in 1984 as a family partnership. Activities began with Hard Chrome Plating in a little electroplating workshop. Developing aim was actualized step by step in a short time and ELKAP has become a popular company in hard chrome plating subject. While hard chrome plating activities were proceeding, cylindrical grinding workshop was established. The work efficiency was increased with complementary plating and grinding operations. In 1992, ELKAP has gained limited company statue, and started restructuring activities. With these restructuring activities, chrome plating and grinding capacity have been increased. New machining workshop that manufactured various machine parts and measurement-control unit were constituted. Various types of machining machines, grinding machines and CNC lathes were placed in this workshop. As a result of these initiatives, plated and coated machine parts manufacturing has become one of the most important activities in ELKAP. After the 1999's destructive earthquake, ELKAP started to work on Thermal Spray Coating. Firstly Flame Spray process was set. In a time ELKAP has increased and diversified its activities with Spray and Fuse, Plasma Spray, Electric Arc Wire Spray and HVOF coating processes. At the end of these efforts, ELKAP has gained organizational structure that actualizes electroplating and thermal spray coating activities together with manufacture of wear-resistant machine parts. While ELKAP was growing up, its management mentality has also been improved. Today, ELKAP continues its activities with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.
