Ender Cikolata

Hamdi Kitapçi -the founder of Ender Chocolate Candies Factory- was a grocery wholesaler in Konya. When his children have come to the age of school in order to be able to send them to school in Istanbul and to enlargen his business he started to search new opportunities in Istanbul. At that time, the owner of a chocolate factory of whom he was the Middle Anatolia distributor, offered him a partnership thus enabled him to get into the industry of chocolate and candy manufacturing. After the death of the partner he started to establish Ender Chocolate Candies Factory as the first Turkish real chocolate manufacturer. In 1947,new machinery and equipment were supplied from Switzerland, Italy, and Germany. In 1955, after his death the management was taken over by his son Tevfik Kitapçi. Despite the economic problems the factory came to 1980’s with higher sales and capacities. As the factory building in Eminönü became insufficient for the capacities the factory moved to Sirinevler in 1981. As the demand has increased a complete plant has been imported from Italy together with its know-how. With additional machinery from Germany and Switzerland at present the daily capacities of 50’s-300 kg. for chocolates and 500 kg. for candies- have come up to daily 30 tons for chocolate and 25 tons for candies.
