Konya Seker Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. was founded in 1952 under the partnerships of Konya, Eskisehir, Aksehir, Ilgin and the Neighbouring Areas Sugar Beet Planters Production Cooperatives, Konya Sinai Kalkinma A.S. and Turkiye Seker Fabrikalari A.S. by a capital of 10.000.000 TL. Being the first sugar mill of our company, Konya Seker Fabrikasi was founded on September 13th, 1953 and machinery and plants of the mill were contracted to the German R&D company. The mill started producing on September 19th, 1954. The mill had an established capacity of 1800 tons/day; and was determined to have an initial cropped area 13.000 hectares. The mill reached a sugar beet processing capacity of 2700 tons per day in 1966, 6000 tons per day in 1978 and 10.000 tons per day in 1997. To make use of the by products including molasses and wet pulp, the Molasses Dry Pulp Mill with 3 units having a aggregate production capacity of 400 tons per day and the enriched Animal Feed plant with a capacity of 20 tons per hour was commissioned in 1977 and 2003, respectively.
