SILKCOAT, consisting of the words (Silk) (Coat), was established in 1993. During those times when the construction sector was very vivid, there were no alternatives in the market except the conventional paints. After determining this deficiency in the sector, Silkcoat started as a leading manufacturer in the decorative paint sector to produce silk-plaster. After the production of this product, having highly qualified specifications, the Silkcoat which was developed through research and development studies, is registered. The international certificates for the product related with health, heat-sound isolation, fire resistence etc.. have been completed. The high quality and specifications of silk-plaster has increased the interest in the product. In a period of only 5 years, silk-plaster became a preferred product in 8-10 countries. Silkcoat, has started the second step of the decorative product group, the mineral plaster with the trademark STONE in 1995. Being completely produced from natural stones, STONE has brought vividity to the fronts of the buildings both in Turkey and abroad. Thousands of buildings were coated with Silkcoat-Stone, the quality and standards of which is trusted. It has become a reknown trademark in a vast area covering over 20 countries from Avustralia to Marocco. In 1997, the production of water and solvent based conventional internal and external front paints and varnishes has been started to meet the standard requirements of the constructional painting field. In order to solve the serious problem of colouring in the paint sector, the first Universal Colouring System – MIXCOLOR has been introduced into tha market in Turkey. Silkcoat, with aim to add at least 5 new products into its portfoille every year, has introduced over 40 different high quality products until 2004. In order to speed up the transformation of the paint sector in Turkey, to expand the market for high quality and qualified products Silkcoat has started to work on SILKCOAT-DECORATIVE EFFECT GROUP at beginning of 2002. After concluding the research and development works, the production of the Effect series conforming with the international standards in Turkey and introduction to the local and international market has started at the beginning 2005.
