Medas Maden Endustri A.S.

Medas has been found in Istanbul Turkey in 1987 for trading of marble products. Due to the diffuculties in production of different locations, invested in Afyon - central anatolian marble city - and constructed a factory in 1990 to produce mainly marble tiles and cut-to-size marble products. MEDAS started investing in quarrying in 1993 to overcome the raw material difficulties. Consequently; Medas owns 2 quarries of granite in the trace region close to the Bulgarian border, 1 white marble quarry in Dinar - central anatolian region. MEDAS exports nearly all the production to different markets. Initially western Europe was themain market. However starting from 1994 USA market took the first place in exports. In 1999 far east countries strated getting a bigger share in exports, specially marble blocks from our Dinar quarry started recieving demand.
