Sahanala S.A.

A non-profit association managing 4 protected areas (Category V), and a natural monument (Allée des Baobabs) in Madagascar. The main objective is to support and strengthen the capacities of local communities by professionalizing them and integrating them into a federation strong enough to face international markets, and support conservation activities (biodiversity) in their regions. Fanamby remains on the Sahanala board of directors to support associations in their environmental choices and to ensure that they also support conservation activities in the protected areas that involve them. Sahanala has since expanded its areas of intervention, and is becoming a major player in rural development in more than 10 regions of Madagascar. To date, it has 4 federations.
