THSW-Acidic Series consists of acidic, aqueous dispersions of colloidal silica that can be customized to meet specific requirements. The silica (SiO2) concentration can be adjusted within the range of 10% to 30%, and the average particle size can be tuned between 10 and 150 nm. These dispersions have a pH range of 2.0 to 4.0. The physical appearance of the dispersion is an opalescent liquid, slightly more viscous than water. During the preparation, cationic ions like sodium (Na+) are removed. The acidic treatment replaces the sodium ions with hydrogen ions (H+), resulting in an acidic colloidal silica with a reduced pH value. Acidic colloidal silica finds applications in various industries such as catalysts, ceramic polishing, coatings, and other areas where an acidic pH environment is desired or preferred.
