Exceltrade Development Ltd.

Exceltrade Development Limited was established in 1989 as an international trade and consulting firm by the Honorary Consul General of Turkey in Hong Kong at that time, Mr. Ahmet D. Arsan.  The company principally conducts trade between Asia-Pacific countries (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand), Turkey, the United States, and the UK.

Exceltrade is a diversified trading firm with product expertise in commodities, such as raw materials for manufacturing, raw steel, steel bars and billets, chemical products, chemical products for refineries, textiles, infant care products, stationery products, fabric, hardware, auto parts, and much more.

The firm's Managing Director, Ahmet D. Arsan,  holds over 20 years of international banking experience.  As Area Head (Asia Pacific), Arsan built and headed First National Bank of Chicago Asia Pacific (now - JP Morgan Asia), subsequently becoming Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the International Bank of Asia (now - Fubon Bank).

Holding many commercial contacts in Asia and in China, Arsan spearheaded First Chicago's China business, and established the first joint-venture Investment Bank China formed in Hong Kong -- (CCIC) -- between First Chicago, Bank of China, Industrial Bank of Japan, and China Resources as partners.

Appointed by the British Governor of Hong Kong, to serve on the Deposit Taking Companies' Advisory Committee, to assist the Hong Kong Government in administering new legislation on deposit taking companies, Arsan has contributed to the Banking and International Trade industry from many angles.  He has also been appointed by the President of Turkey as Honorary Consul General in Hong Kong from 1987-1989.

Arsan speaks English and Turkish, and holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, and a B.Sc. in Public Administration.

Partner and Director

S. Kemal Arsan

Kemal Arsan is a Partner and Director of Exceltrade, and is responsible for developing the firm's presence in Asia.  Kemal spent several years in Investment Banking at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. in New York working on international direct investment in large infrastructure assets, including renewable energy generation facilities in China.

Kemal is currently based in New York City and is an alumnus of both Columbia University (MIA, International Finance and Economics, 2011), and Hong Kong International School (1993). Kemal is Series 7 and 63 licensed by the United States Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and is a CFA Level-1 Candidate (2011).

Born in Hong Kong, Kemal understands the region's business culture and is proficient in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Kemal has lived in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai, and is a member of the Columbia University Club of New York.
